Cobra Battles Clan of Meerkats
A cobra's presence near the meerkat colony causes the whole gang to jump into action and defend the turf. Although this cobra could easily kill one of these mammals, the meerkats show great courage. The meerkats fearlessly withstand the attacks of the cobra, and return with strikes. Meerkats will often encounter dangerous and venomous creatures on the plains of the Kalahari, including scorpions, spiders, centipedes, and snakes. While meerkats are immune to certain types of venom, such as that of scorpions, they do die of the venomous bites snakes such as puff adders and cape cobras.
